Pottery is such a fun skill to learn. I would love for you to join me and my friends as we work together to improve our Pottery skills. I recommend starting with handbuilding - this pottery technique will teach you the basics of getting to know your clay and what you can do with it, another foundational thing you will learning is a few different glazing techniques. After you have mastered the basics you can advance onto the wheel or continue on with intermediate/advance hand building. It is amazing to learn what you can create!

Mondays are for classes and Tuesdays will be Workshop classes. I have some wonderful ladies working along side of me teaching. Kathy Crettol teaches beginning and intermediate hand building & Amy Meger teaches beginning and intermediate wheel throwing. We make a great team! The current class description and schedule is listed below. Contact Me if you are interested in attending classes. I will then be in contact and get you locked in on a time that works for you.

  • Hand building is a technique of making ceramics where you form clay into a pot or vessel with only your hands, simple tools, and a slab of clay. Learn how to wedge your clay by kneading the clay.

Pinching pots, Coiled pots, Slab building, and Basic glazing technique are just a few of the techniques you will learn

  • Now that you have completed beginner hand building, it is your time to shine…

You can try new ideas you have learned in class, online or from a platform like YouTube (there are so many great tutorials out there). Learning is unlimited. Dog bowls, large salad bowls, nativity scene, planters, pitchers, the sky is the limit. Explore your glazing and over-layering technique with our lovely instructors

  • This will take practice and patients. You will be instructed on how to wedge your clay, center your clay on the wheel, opening your clay, pulling walls, trimming and preparing your piece to be bisqued.

  • (You have completed beginner wheel throwing)

Knowledge of basic wheel throwing & comfortable with clay. Learning to throw larger pieces, throwing off the hump, making sets, repeating forms, exploring new shapes
